Mazda sales rise drastically in Q3. CX-30 is the most popular model
Bangkok, Thailand, 7 October 2020 – Mazda revealed that its sales in September hits the highest record after the pandemic of Covid-19. The passenger car, Mazda2 continues to gain the highest popularity, followed by the pickup truck, BT-50 PRO that has been well-accepted from customers toward the campaign that helps people affected by the pandemic of Covid-19 which led its sales to reach the highest record. The Mazda3 and the Crossover Mazda CX-30 are still popular too. As a result, Mazda achieves an accumulate sales in Q3 at 10,664 units or increased by 2 times or 100% from the previous quarter.
Mr. Chanchai Trakarnudomsuk, the President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said that when comparing the sales of Mazda vehicle between the first quarter and the second quarter of the year, it could be seen that the sales in the second quarter has been severely affected by the pandemic of Covid-19 especially in April and May. However, the market has been noticeably recovered from the demand of existing and new customers who come to have a service at Mazda showrooms. Mazda continues to deliver the campaign and special offer to meet the demand of customers, especially the marketing campaign that supports medical personnel and people affected from the pandemic of Covid-19. The campaign receives overwhelmed feedbacks and it is able to drive the sales of Mazda BT-50 PRO to hit the highest record with 786 units. As a result, Mazda sales in Q3 reach to 10,664 units while only 5,256 units of cars were sold in the Q2, which was considered as 100% increase.
In September 2020, Mazda sales 3,917 units which was the highest result since January. Mazda total sales in Sep include 2,049 units of passenger cars, 1,082 units of Crossover SUV and 786 units of pickup truck. Considering sales performance by model, the Mazda2 gaines the highest popularity from customers with the total sales of 1,616 units, followed by 786 units of Mazda BT-50 PRO, 532 units of Mazda CX-30, 433 units of Mazda3, 269 units of Mazda CX-3, 159 units of Mazda CX-8 and 122 units of Mazda CX-5 respectively.

Mr. Chanchai added that an accumulated sales of Mazda vehicle from January to September 2020 was 26,072 units, including 16,665 units of passenger car, 7,653 units of Crossover SUV and 1,754 units of pickup truck respectively. Although the total year-to-date sales is not the number Mazda aims to achieve, Mazda is confident that good sales momentum will continue in Q4. It will drive Mazda total annual sales to reach 40,000-42,000 units while the total automotive industry sales this year is expected at around 750,000 units. Also, Mazda is now preparing to launch new SUV model and pickup truck to the market as well as marketing and sale activities throughout the last three months of the year.
