Panasonic has recently revealed an ambitious initiative to double its AI and cloud human resources, with the goal of harnessing the full potential of IoT, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence. By expanding their workforce in these areas, the company aims to enhance their services in the Heating & Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) business and provide comprehensive support to their valued customers.

With 89 AI and cloud workers already in place as of late April, 2023, Panasonic plans to increase this number to over 100 employees nationwide by 2025, effectively more than doubling their current workforce. These new hires will predominantly consist of engineers, constituting 60-70% of the workforce, while the remaining 30-40% will focus on business planning, quality assurance, and customer success.

Moving away from a product-centric approach, Panasonic aims to prioritize customer satisfaction and service delivery. Instead of reactive troubleshooting, the company aims to "raise satisfaction rather than eliminate negatives." To achieve this, they recognize the importance of understanding ever-evolving usage conditions, which is challenging for human resources alone. Hence, the integration of AI, cloud technology, and dedicated personnel is essential for effective automatic information gathering and tailored responses.

Panasonic has strategically established a core base in Osaka's Umeda area, offering convenient commuting options to attract and secure skilled professionals. Additionally, the company is actively fostering a remote work environment to accelerate nationwide recruitment efforts. By promoting flexibility, Panasonic aims to create an atmosphere conducive to attracting top talent.

Recognizing the significance of ongoing education, the company supports internal and external training initiatives and facilitates qualification acquisition for their workforce. One certification strongly recommended by Panasonic is "ITIL," which showcases successful case studies in IT services. By encouraging employees to gain diverse experiences beyond the company, Panasonic aims to avoid a monolithic corporate culture and leverage the valuable perspectives brought by individuals who have transitioned across industries.

Panasonic's objective in securing additional human resources is to reinforce their paid services in B2B monitoring and control. Furthermore, the company intends to leverage B2C data to optimize driving comfort, efficiency, and equipment performance. As rising electricity costs pose challenges for many organizations, Panasonic recognizes the growing need for advanced management solutions. By expanding their workforce with proficient individuals, the company is committed to meeting these industry demands and steadfastly pursuing customer satisfaction.
