Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 192 new factories nationwide were licensed in September 2023. The employment increased with more 5,644 people hired whereas the total capital was 15,822.34 million baht, decreasing from 19,740.65 baht of the previous month.

Samut Sakhon province where 23 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 2,018.80 million baht. 

• Champion for the largest number of new factories in August 2023

In September 2023, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Sakhon - There were 23 new licensed factories with the total capital of 2,018.80 million baht. The employment increased with 1,363 more hires. The total machine power was 18,370.35 hp.

2) Samut Prakan - There were 22 new licensed factories with the total capital of 2,101.50 million baht. The employment increased with 831 more hires. The total machine power was 9,202.57 hp.

3) Nakhon Pathom - There were 18 new licensed factories with the total capital of 706.20 million baht. The employment increased with 739 more hires. The total machine power was 5,608.7 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Pathum Thani with the total capital of 4,978.17 million baht. The followings were Samut Prakan  at 2,101.50 million baht,  Samut Sakhon at 2,018.80 million baht, Chonburi at 1,999.20 million baht and Nakhon Pathom at 706.20 million baht.
