Samut Prakan: Champions for the largest number of new factories in July 2023

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 140 new factories nationwide were licensed in July 2023. The employment increased with more 3,888 people hired whereas the total capital was 11,062.33 million baht, decreasing from 18,259.49 baht of the previous month.

Samut Prakan province where 19 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 1,198.36 million baht. 

In July 2023, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Prakan - There were 19 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1198.36 million baht. The employment increased with 545 more hires. The total machine power was 8,797.49 hp.

2) Chonburi - There were 17 new licensed factories with the total capital of 2,196.36 million baht. The employment increased with 743 more hires. The total machine power was 12,539.09 hp.

3) Rayong - There were 9 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,352.26 million baht. The employment increased with 427 more hires. The total machine power was  2,618.57 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Chonburi with the total capital of 2,196.36 million baht. The followings were Ratchaburi at 1,488.31 million baht, Rayong at 1,352.26 million baht, Samut Prakan at 1,198.36  million baht and Nakhon Sawan at 1,029.75 million baht.
