Thailand’s Auto Production Reaches 130,222 Units in November 2025, Up 11% YoY Despite Monthly Slowdown

Thailand’s automobile production totaled 130,222 units in November 2025, marking an 11.06% increase year-on-year, despite a decline from the previous month, according to the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). Growth was driven primarily by battery electric vehicles (EVs), which surged sharply, and continued expansion in the PPV pickup segment, while cumulative production for the first eleven months reached approximately 1.34 million units.

December 22, 2025 — Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Spokesman and Advisor to the Automotive Industry Group, Federation of Thai Industries, announced Thailand’s automobile production for  November 2025 as follows:

Total Vehicle Production

In November 2025, Thailand produced 130,222​ vehicles, down 4.03% from October 2025 and 11.06% higher year-on-year.

From January to  November 2025, total production reached  1,341,714 units, down 1.64% from the same period in 2024.

Passenger Cars

In  November  2025, 52,887​ passenger cars were produced, up 16.26% year-on-year.
For January– November 2025, production totaled 504,597 units, accounting for 37.82% of total vehicle output, down 2.90% compared to the same period last year.

  • Internal Combustion Engine (ICE): 20,892 units, down 27.65% YoY (Jan–Nov: 229,719 units, down 30.56%)
  • Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV): 9,624 units, up 1,974.14% YoY (Jan–Nov: 60,200 units, up 609.07%)
  • Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV): 437 units, up 13.21% YoY (Jan–Nov: 16,921 units, up 210.31%)
  • Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV): 21,934 units, up 39.13% YoY (Jan–Nov: 197,757 units, up 13.04%)

Trucks

A total of 77,335 trucks were produced in November 2025, up 7.77% from the previous year.

During January–November 2025, production stood at  837,117 units, down 0.86% year-on-year.

1-Ton Pickup Trucks

Production of 1-ton pickups in Noveber 2025 reached 76,022 units, up 7.34% year-on-year. For January–November 2025, 827,446 units were produced (down 0.13% YoY), accounting for 62.39% of total production, comprising:

  • Pickup truck (chassis cab): 11,986 units, up 13.56% YoY (Jan–Nov: 129,036 units, down  1.52%)
  • Double-cab pickup: 48,921 units, up 7.09% YoY (Jan–Nov: 527,950 units, down 3.33%)
  • Double-cab BEV: 66 units, up 100% YoY (Jan–Nov: 321 units, up 100%)
  • PPV (Pickup Passenger Vehicle): 15,049 units, up 3.17% YoY (Jan–Nov: 170,139 units, up  12.40%)

Heavy Trucks (5–10 tons and above)

In November 2025, 1,313 units were produced, up 40.13% YoY.

From January–November 2025, 9,671 units were produced, down 39.12% compared with the same period last year.

Vehicles Produced for Export

In November 2025, vehicles produced for export totaled 71,589 units, accounting for 54.97% of total production, a 10.54% decrease year-on-year. 

From January–November 2025, export production reached 862,886 units, down 8.39% YoY, accounting for 64.31% of total production.

  • Passenger cars: 16,818 units, down 29.71% YoY (Jan–Nov: 192,314 units, down 31.50%)
  • 1-ton pickups: 54,771 units, up 2.36% YoY (Jan–Nov: 670,572 units, up 1.42%)
    • Pickup: 5,348 units, up 10.72% YoY (Jan–Nov: 70,321 units, up 25.41%)
    • Double-cab pickup:  40,398 units, up 1.2% YoY  (Jan–Nov:  473,223 units, down 11.84%)
    • PPV: 9,025 units, down 20.48% YoY (Jan–Nov: 127,028 units, up 4.62%)

Vehicles Produced for Domestic Sales

Vehicle production for the domestic market in November 2025 totaled 58,633 units, accounting for 45.03% of total production, and representing a 57.49% year-on-year increase.

From January–November 2025, domestic production reached 478,828 units, up 13.42% year-on-year.

  • Passenger cars: 36,069 units, up 67.25% YoY (Jan–Nov: 312,283 units, up 30.69%)
  • 1-ton pickups: 21,251 units, up 44.31% YoY (Jan–Nov: 156,874 units, down 6.25%)
    • Pickup (chassis cab): 6,638 units, up 15.95% YoY (Jan–Nov: 58,715 units, down 21.66%)
    • Double-cab pickup: 8,589 units, up 49.01%​ YoY (Jan–Nov: 55,048 units, down 11.84%)
    • PPV: 6,024 units, up 86.10% YoY (Jan–Nov: 43,111 units, up  43.95%)

No production was recorded for buses or vehicles over 10 tons in November 2025 or during the January–November period.

Meanwhile, truck production in the under-5-ton and over-10-ton categories totaled 1,313 units in November 2025, representing a 40.13% year-on-year increase. However, cumulative production from January to November 2025 stood at 9,671 units, marking a 39.12% decline compared with the same period in 2024.
