Pathum Thani and Chonburi Lead in New Factory Licenses in August 2025
Thailand sees total investment of 5.9 billion baht from 89 new factories nationwide
The Department of Industrial Works (DIW), Ministry of Industry, has released data on newly licensed factories across Thailand for August 2025. A total of 89 factories were granted licenses nationwide, with total investment reaching 5,945.31 million baht.
Pathum Thani and Chonburi topped the list with 13 new factories each, recording total investments of 657.46 million baht and 599.04 million baht, respectively.
Top Provinces by Number of New Factories
According to the DIW, the three provinces with the highest number of new factory licenses in August 2025 were:
- Pathum Thani – 13 factories, 657.46 million baht investment, 440 employees, total machine power of 2,791.69 HP
Chonburi – 13 factories, 599.04 million baht investment, 461 employees, total machine power of 6,089.89 HP - Samut Sakhon – 11 factories, 465.20 million baht investment, 229 employees, total machine power of 7,626.09 HP
- Chiang Mai – 8 factories, 125.10 million baht investment, 152 employees, total machine power of 2,342.41 HP
Top Provinces by Investment Value
When comparing by investment value, the top three provinces in August were:
- Ayutthaya – 1,638.02 million baht
- Rayong – 969.43 million baht
- Pathum Thani – 657.46 million baht
The report reflects continued industrial expansion in Thailand’s key manufacturing zones, particularly in the central and eastern regions, which remain major hubs for electronics, automotive, and food processing industries.
