Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry, has released statistics on the number of industrial factories licensed nationwide in April 2024. A total of 163 factories whereas the total capital was 36,623.78 million baht. Samut Prakan province had the highest number of new factory openings at 17, with a total investment of over 8,015.66 million baht.

In April 2024, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Prakan - There were 17 new licensed factories with the total capital of 8,015.66 million baht. The employment increased with 764 more hires. The total machine power was 30,590.57 hp.

2) Chonburi​ - There were 16 new licensed factories with the total capital of 530.39 million baht. The employment increased with 276 more hires. The total machine power was 6,118.42 hp.

3) Phathum Thani - There were 12 new licensed factories with the total capital of 882.80  million baht. The employment increased with 431 more hires. The total machine power was 7,035.62 hp.

However, when comparing only the province with the factory capital, the top three provinces were: Prachin Buri with the total capital of 9,078.84 million baht; followed by Samut Prakan with 8,015.66 million baht; and Suphan Buri with 7,371.90​ million baht.
