Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry, has released statistics on the number of industrial factories licensed nationwide in February 2024. A total of 156 factories whereas the total capital was 21,233.83 million baht. Rayong province had the highest number of new factory openings at 16, with a total investment of over 1,333.96 million baht.

In February 2024, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Rayong - There were 16 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,333.96 million baht. The employment increased with 286 more hires. The total machine power was 24,246.95 hp.

2) Samut Prakan - There were 13 new licensed factories with the total capital of 811.37 million baht. The employment increased with 457 more hires. The total machine power was 10,862.02 hp.

3) Chonburi - There were 12 new licensed factories with the total capital of 346.28 million baht. The employment increased with 281 more hires. The total machine power was 3,689.88 hp.

However, when comparing only the province with the factory capital, the top three provinces were: Ayutthaya with the total capital of 10,030.57 million baht; followed by Sa Kaeo with 4,145.09 million baht; and Rayong with 1,333.96 million baht.
