Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in July and the expected total number for 2023.

Total car production

The July production reached at 149,709 units. It increased 4.72% Year-on-Year (YoY) and increased 2.85% from June 2023 as 145,557 units. Produced for domestic use decreased 1.16% (YoY) and produced for export increased 9.48% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export increased 11.88% (YoY) The production number this year totaled 1,071,221 units, rising 0.66% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 145,557 vehicles in July 2023, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 50,568 units, 11.96% increase (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 4 units
- Truck at 99,137 units, 1.38% increase (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 96,257 units, 2.06% increase (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 2,880 units, 17.24% decrease (YoY)

Car production for export

In July 2023, the car production for export totaled 86,552 units, representing 57.81% of the total production, increasing 9.48% (YoY)

- 23,923 passenger cars, up 11.88% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 62,629 units, 8.59% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In July 2023, there were 63,157 units produced for domestic use, representing 42.19% of the whole production or a decrease of 1.16% (YoY)

- 26,645 passenger cars, 12.02% increase (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 33,628 units, 8.21% decrease (YoY)
