Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in February and the expected total number for 2023.

Total car production

The February production reached at 165,612 units. It increased 6.39% Year-on-Year (YoY) and Increased 2.02% from January 2023 as 157,844 units. Produced for domestic use increased 6.39% (YoY) and produced for export increased 16.17% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export increased 50.04% (YoY) The production number this year totaled 327,939 units, rising 6.68% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 165,612 vehicles in February 2023, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 59,040 units, 40.91% increase (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 12 units
- Truck at 106,560 units, 6.33% decrease (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 103,916 units, 5.84% decrease (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 2,644 units, 22.28% decrease (YoY)

Car production for export

In February 2023, the car production for export totaled 95,612 units, representing 57.73% of the total production, increasing 16.17% (YoY)

- 25,316 passenger cars, up 50.04% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 70,296 units, 7.44% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In February 2023, there were 70,000 units produced for domestic use, representing 42.27% of the whole production or a decrease of 4.58% (YoY)

- 33,724 passenger cars,  34.76% increase (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 33,620 units, 25.18% decrease (YoY)
