Samut Sakhon: Champions for the largest number of new factories in April 2023
Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 155 new factories nationwide were licensed in April 2023. The employment increased with more 2,968 people hired whereas the total capital was 8,674.94 million baht, decreasing from 8,313.92 baht of the previous month.
Samut Sakhon provinces had the same 16 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 369.81 million baht.
In April 2023, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows:
1) Samut Sakhon - There were 16 new licensed factories with the total capital of 369.81 million baht. The employment increased with 349 more hires. The total machine power was 3,638.04 hp.
2) Samut Prakan - There were 13 new licensed factories with the total capital of 4,713.01 million baht. The employment increased with 724 more hires. The total machine power was 15,669.33 hp.
3) Nakhon Pathom - There were 6 new licensed factories with the total capital of 121.50 million baht. The employment increased with 98 more hires. The total machine power was 1,309.70 hp.
However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Samut Prakan with the total capital of 4,713.01 million baht. The followings were Rayong at 771.64 million baht, Chachoengsao at 608.88 million baht, Samut Sakhon at 369.81 million baht and Saraburi at 362.53 million baht.
