Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in July and the expected total number for 2022.

Total car production

The July production reached at 142,958 units. It increased 16.07% Year-on-Year (YoY) and decreased 0.04% from June 2022 as 143,016 units. Produced for domestic use increased 34.47% (YoY) and Produced for export increased 2.07% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export decreased 32.79% (YoY) The production number of this year totaled 1,013,069 units, rising 4.68% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 142,958 vehicles in July 2022, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 45,168 units, 0.76% decrease (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at zero
- Truck at 97,790 units, 25.94% increase (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 94,310 units, 25.93% increase (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 3,480 units, 26.13% increase (YoY)

Car production for export

In July 2022, the car production for export totaled 71,387 units, representing 49.94% of the total production, increasing 2.07% (YoY)

- 13,711 passenger cars, down 32.79% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 57,676 units, 16.43% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In July 2022, there were 71,571 units produced for domestic use, representing 50.06% of the whole production or an increase of 34.47% (YoY)

- 31,457 passenger cars, increase 25.26% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 36,634 units, 44.51% increase (YoY)
