Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in June and the expected total number for 2023.

Total car production

The June production reached at 145,557 units. It increased 1.78% Year-on-Year (YoY) and decreased 3.30% from May 2023 as 150,532 units. Produced for domestic use decreased 2.01% (YoY) and produced for export increased 4.66% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export increased 12.03% (YoY) The production number this year totaled 921,512 units, rising 5.91% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 145,557 vehicles in June 2023, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 50,300 units, 14.83% increase (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 16 units
- Truck at 95,241 units, 4% decrease (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 91,737 units, 3.94% decrease (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 3,504 units, 5.63% decrease (YoY)

Car production for export

In June 2023, the car production for export totaled 84,909 units, representing 58.33% of the total production, increasing 4.66% (YoY)

- 23,069 passenger cars, up 12.03% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 61,840 units, 2.15% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In June 2023, there were 60,648 units produced for domestic use, representing 41.67% of the whole production or a decrease of 2.01% (YoY)

- 27,231 passenger cars, 17.30% increase (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 29,897 units, 14.48% increase (YoY)
