Newly Registered Electric Vehicles (xEV) in June 2022
The Next-Generation Automotive Research Center under Thailand Automotive Institute released the report on the new registration of Electric Vehicles (xEV) and electric motorcycles as the followings:
The new registration for Electric Vehicles (xEV) in June 2022 totaled 7,553 units, increasing 8% (MoM), accounting for 8.9% of the total newly registered vehicles.
- For Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the new registration totaled 6,666 units, comprising 5,581 HEVs and 1,085 PHEVs, an increase of 104% (YoY) and 60% (YoY) in order.
- The new registration for BEV totaled 887 units, a increase of 61% (MoM) and rising of 428% (YoY), according to the steady increasing public interest in EV.
The new registration for motor vehicles in June 2022 totaled 84,864 units, an increase of 15% from the same period of the previous year. There were internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles totaled 77,311 units, accounting for 91% of the total newly registered vehicles and the growth rate increased by 10%

In June 2022, the registration for new electric motorcycles totaled 769 units, a decrease of 21% (MoM), accounting for 0.4% of the total newly registered motorcycles.
There were only 44 HEVs and the growth rate continued to decline. This is the result from the performance and fuel consumption is not different from the ICE car, while the BEV is still popular. Although the BEV's volume was not much at 725 units, it's likely to continue to grow with an increasing 124% and almost all of them were personal motorcycles

For HEV, the new registration totaled 44 units, decreasing 52% (YoY) and the number was more than the previous month which 28 HEV motorcycles were registered.
- The new registration for BEV totaled 725 units, an increase of 124% (YoY) and the number was less than the previous month which 953 BEV motorcycles were registered.
The new registration for motorcycles in June 2022 totaled 192,381 units, a increase of 9% from the same period of the previous year. There were internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles totaled 191,612 units, accounting for 99.5% of the total newly registered vehicles and the growth rate increased by 9%
