Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in October and the expected total number for 2022.

Total car production

The October production reached at 170,717 units. It increased 10.83% Year-on-Year (YoY) and decreased 4.75% from September 2022 as 171,731 units. Produced for domestic use increased 12.31% (YoY) and Produced for export increased 9.75% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export increased 22.37% (YoY) The production number of this year totaled 1,534,754 units, rising 12.36% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 170,717 vehicles in October 2022, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 59,406 units, 6.60% increase (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 21 units
- Truck at 111,290 units, 13.20% increase (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 108,003 units, 13.88% increase (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 3,287 units, 5.27% decrease (YoY)

Car production for export

In October 2022, the car production for export totaled 97,832 units, representing 57.31% of the total production, increasing 9.75% (YoY)

- 33,895 passenger cars, up 22.37% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 63,937 units, 4.06% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In October 2022, there were 72,885 units produced for domestic use, representing 42.69% of the whole production or an increase of 12.31% (YoY)

- 25,511 passenger cars, decrease 8.98% (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 21 units
- One-ton pickup truck at 44,066 units, 31.95% increase (YoY)
