Newly Registered Electric Vehicles (xEV) in November 2022
The Next-Generation Automotive Research Center under Thailand Automotive Institute released the report on the new registration of Electric Vehicles (xEV) and electric motorcycles as the followings:
The new registration for Electric Vehicles (xEV) in November 2022 totaled 7,594 units, increasing 4% (MoM), accounting for 10.4% of the total newly registered vehicles.
- For Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the new registration totaled 6,013 units, comprising 5,052 HEVs and 961 PHEVs, an increase of 83% (YoY) and 49% (YoY) in order.
- The new registration for BEV totaled 1,581 units, a increase of 12.2% (MoM) and rising of 793% (YoY), according to the steady increasing public interest in EV.
The new registration for motor vehicles in November 2022 totaled 72,645 units, an increase of 11% from the same period of the previous year. There were internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles totaled 65,051 units, accounting for 90% of the total newly registered vehicles and the growth rate increased by 5%

In November 2022, the registration for new electric motorcycles totaled 1,335 units, an increase of 123% (MoM), accounting for 0.7% of the total newly registered motorcycles.
There were only 38 HEVs and the growth rate continued to decline. This is the result from the performance and fuel consumption is not different from the ICE car, while the BEV is still popular. Although the BEV's volume was not much at 1,297 units, it's likely to continue to grow with an increasing 108% and almost all of them were personal motorcycles

For HEV, the new registration totaled 38 units, decreasing 5% (YoY) and the number was less than the previous month which 44 HEV motorcycles were registered.
- The new registration for BEV totaled 1,297 units, an increase of 108% (YoY) and the number rose from 552 units in the previous month.
The new registration for motorcycles in November 2022 totaled 167,166 units, an increase of 5% from the same period of the previous year. There were internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles totaled 165,831 units, accounting for 99.5% of the total newly registered vehicles and the growth rate increased by 4%
