Samut Sakhon: Champions for the largest number of new factories in March 2023
Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 155 new factories nationwide were licensed in March 2023. The employment increased with more 3,103 people hired whereas the total capital was 8,313.92 million baht, decreasing from 10,275.17 baht of the previous month.
Samut Sakhon provinces had the same 23 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 1,055.85 million baht.
In March 2023, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows:
1) Samut Sakhon - There were 23 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,055.85 million baht. The employment increased with 460 more hires. The total machine power was 7,329.45 hp.
2) Samut Prakan - There were 13 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,996.34 million baht. The employment increased with 345 more hires. The total machine power was 4,145.83 hp.
3) Rayong - There were 10 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,578.91 million baht. The employment increased with 536 more hires. The total machine power was 3,540.39 hp.
However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Samut Prakan with the total capital of 1,996.34 million baht. The followings were Rayong at 1,578.91 million baht, Samut Sakhon at 1,055.85 million baht, Chonburi at 619.12 million baht and Nakhon Ratchasima at 449.40 million baht.
