Chonburi: Champions for the largest number of new factories in September 2022

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 208 new factories nationwide were licensed in September 2022. The employment increased with more 4,844 people hired whereas the total capital was 9,951.83 million baht, decreasing from 9,094.80 baht of the previous month. 

Chonburi  was the province where 19 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 1,591.71 million baht.

In September 2022, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Chonburi  - There were 19 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,591.71 million baht. The employment increased with 467 more hires. The total machine power was 10,089.05 hp.

2) Samut Sakhon - There were 17 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,127.88 million baht. The employment increased with 473 more hires. The total machine power was 11,031.69 hp.

3) Samut Prakan - There were 15 new licensed factories with the total capital of 459.61 million baht. The employment increased with 474 more hires. The total machine power was 2,520.31 hp.

 

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Chonburi with the total capital of 1,591.71 million baht. The followings were Chachoengsao at 1,466.52 million baht, Samut Sakhon at 1,127.88 million baht, Rayong at 1,004.83 million baht and Pranakorn Sri Ayutthaya at 686.40 million baht.
