Japan’s Machine Tool Orders Rise 17.1% in October 2025, with Thailand Surging 35.4%
The Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association (JMTBA) reported that the total value of Japan’s machine tool orders reached 143.456 billion yen (USD 920.45 million) in October 2025, up 3.1% month-on-month and 17.1% year-on-year. This marks the fourth consecutive month of YoY growth and the eighth consecutive month in which total orders exceeded 120 billion yen.
Overall demand in October was described as “generally favorable,” driven mainly by a continued rise in foreign orders, which remained the key growth engine. However, short-term market sentiment remains cautious due to ongoing global uncertainties, even as expectations for a gradual recovery continue.
