Thailand’s Motorcycle Sales Drop 9.35% in 2024, BEV Plummets Over 50%
The Automotive Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) reported that Thailand’s total motorcycle sales in 2024 reached 1,683,239 units, marking a 9.35% decline from 2023.
Sales breakdown:
- Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Motorcycles: 1,683,039 units (-9.30%)
- Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) Motorcycles: 200 units (-52.38%)
The data reflects a slowdown in the market, particularly in the electric motorcycle segment, which saw a sharp decline of more than half. This downturn may be attributed to factors such as pricing, government policies, and the readiness of supporting infrastructure.
