Bangkok, May 27, 2025 - Mr. Yongyuth Malithong, President of Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited (“TCRSS”), announced that Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (“SSI”), JFE Steel Corporation (“JFE Steel”) and  Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. (“Marubeni-Itochu Steel”), as major shareholders of both Thai Coated Steel Sheet Company Limited (“TCS”) and Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited (“TCRSS”), have jointly resolved to integrate TCS into TCRSS, with the transaction expected to take effect on October 1, 2025.

TCRSS will serve as the transferee entity in the full business transfer from TCS, including all assets and liabilities, with no change to the existing shareholder structure of TCRSS following the transaction. This full business transfer constitutes a corporate restructuring in accordance with Thai law.

TCS and TCRSS were established in 1990 as joint ventures between and JFE Steel and Marubeni-Itochu Steel of Japan, and SSI, a pioneer in Thailand’s steel industry.

  • TCS commenced commercial production in 1994 and primarily manufactures and sells high-quality electric galvanized steel sheets, mainly for customers in OA equipment, home appliances, automotive parts, as well as general domestic demand.
  • TCRSS began commercial production in 1997 and focuses on the manufacture and sale of high-quality cold-rolled steel sheets for customers in the automotive, automotive parts, home appliances, and other domestic market segments.

Under the strategic partnership among JFE Steel, Marubeni-Itochu Steel, and SSI, this integration aims to generate synergy through: 1) enhancing operational efficiency across management, marketing, and production 2) elevating product quality and customer responsiveness through comprehensive solution offerings to access new markets and 3) developing a robust and integrated supply chain that spans from midstream to downstream steel businesses. Moreover, this integration is expected to further strengthen the Thailand’s steel industry.

“This integration reflects TCRSS’s commitment to driving the business toward a stable and sustainable future. It marks a significant step in strengthening the long-term capabilities and resilience of the company and its stakeholders—particularly customers, who will benefit from a broader range of products and services, spanning from cold-rolled steel to electro-galvanized steel, along with comprehensive solutions that effectively meet evolving market demands. These improvements will be further supported by enhanced quality management and more efficient delivery operations.

For our people, the integration creates opportunities for skills development, stable career progression, and growth within a stronger organizational structure. TCRSS remains committed to supporting local employment in Bangsaphan. At the same time, surrounding communities will benefit from the continuity and stability of our business operations, backed by the company’s ongoing dedication to economic, social, community, and environmental responsibility, in line with our commitment to sustainable development,” said the President of TCRSS.
