Toyota Motor Thailand Updates its Production Plans
30 April 2020 - Toyota Motor Thailand (TMT) today updates its production plans. As announced on 23 April, TMT’s Samrong and Ban Pho plants are expected to suspend their manufacturing operations through 9 May and will resume production on 11 May. The Gateway plant will suspend its manufacturing operations through 23 May.
The decision has been made to adjust production, based on factors such as the current and anticipated market demand in Thailand and exporting countries for each of vehicle models produced in the three plants.
TMT will continue to take quick and comprehensive decisions and actions, taking into consideration comprehensive factors including market demand, parts supply situation, among others, with the safety and security of our employees and all of our stakeholders kept in mind. We also aim to contribute to social distancing by reducing the number of commuters where possible, in line with the government’s efforts and directions toward containing the virus.
Please note that, at this moment, we do not anticipate any significant impact on our dealer operation. Most of the Toyota and Lexus dealers if not all will remain open to cater our customers’ needs, except Toyota dealers in some province that have to be temporarily closed according to the province's infection control measures.
