TILOG–LOGISTIX 2018 Officially Opened! The Regional Connectivity Platform for Thai Logistics

On 29 August 2018 at BITEC, Thailand, Mr. Sakon Varanyuwatana, Vice Minister for Commerce chaired the Opening Ceremony for TILOG–LOGISTIX 2018, the most comprehensive exhibition of Logistics Service Providers and Intralogistics Technologies and Solutions, bringing Thai Logistics closer to the heart of ASEAN regional connectivity. The event will be held from 29 - 31 August 2018 at Hall 98, BITEC, Thailand.
 
The Department of International Trade Promotion together with Reed Tradex Company organize TILOG–LOGISTIX 2018 to be a business connection platform for Thai logistics providers, creating opportunities for Thailand as the major hub for ASEAN regional connectivity. It brings together exhibitors representing 415 brands from 25 countries to showcase logistics technologies, innovations, solutions and services. Participants will benefit from in-house international seminars, namely, Trade Logistics Symposium 2018 on the topic “The Future of Agriculture and Perishable Goods Value Chain”, World Transport & Logistics Forum Thailand (WTLF) on “Updating Global Logistics Benchmark for Competitive Awareness” which will reveal Logistics Performance Index (LPI) by World Bank and also e-commerce seminars that will accelerate businesses performance with E-Logistics trends and rapid changes in digital technologies. Approximately 11,000 visitors are expected to join the event, while trade value are projected at 600 million baht.
 
Mr. Sakon Varanyuwatana, Vice Minister for Commerce, Chair of the Opening Ceremony revealed that policies to improve logistics efficiency are the intrinsic mechanism in driving the country’s economy and creating value for products and services, which align with the national policy Thailand 4.0. Furthermore, Thailand is strategically situated at the center of the region which allows it to serve as the gateway to CLMV and ASEAN. The Thai government aims to invest in logistics infrastructure upgrades in order to increase logistics competencies and reduce logistics costs to 12% of the GDP by 2021.
 
“The collaboration between the public and private sectors has resulted in raising Thailand’s International Logistics Performance Index (LPI), ranking the country at 32nd from 160 countries in 2018, which demonstrates a significant improvement from 45th in 2016.”
 
The Department of International Trade Promotion has joined forces with various private and public sectors and Reed Tradex Company to co-organized TILOG-LOGISTIX 2018 for the 4th year, making this year’s event the 15th edition for TILOG exhibition. It will serve as a platform to support Thailand’s national strategic plan in raising the efficiency and standards of Thai logistics service providers to be on par with international providers while promoting industrial linkage with overseas businesses.
 
 Additionally, this year’s TILOG-LOGISTIX will also focus on the integration of agricultural logistics which will contribute to the added value to farm products by applying logistics management for instance improving storage management, extending shelf life of the products, packaging and delivery system, managing product freshness until delivery to customers and the business connectivity between logistics providers in Thailand with the ASEAN region.
 
Mr. Isara Burintramart, Managing Director, Reed Tradex Company described TILOG – LOGISTIX 2018 as the cooperation between the Public and Private sectors to raise the standard of the show to become a comprehensive platform of logistic services and technology to extend logistic services and other related services from ASEAN region, especially the CLMV countries. This year’s exhibition includes logistics solutions and technology, cross-border logistics, logistics for agricultural produce, cold chain logistics, logistics for e-commerce geared for importers and exporters who are looking for services that will lead to new line of business.  This year the organizers have received favorable responses from overseas delegates who are bringing 500 participants to attend and discuss business.  They are largely from China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and the CLMV countries.”
 
TILOG-LOGISTIX 2018 will showcase an extensive array of innovative technologies in warehousing and conveying, by concentrating on products suited to the ASEAN region, especially those that will apply to 4.0 era and the Internet of Things to reduce cost and improve efficiency in moving goods.  Some of the product innovations on show include ‘Automated racking system’ offering speed, accuracy and compact space; AGV robot – all-access robot; and Integrated solutions logistics for supply chain management. Leading logistic service providers for domestic and international transport, leaders in warehousing supply, in logistics for agriculture including cold chain logistics will be ready to offer alternative business solutions, including linkages through business negotiations in this show.” Moreover, there will be a knowledge exchanging platform featuring international industry experts.
