On December 17, 2018, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) revealed its goals and its anticipated global production and sales volumes of Toyota, Daihatsu, and Hino in 2019. The total production is expected at 10,860,000 vehicles, an increase of 240,000 from 2018.

As for the sales volume, TMC estimates that its automotive sales in 2019 will be 10,760,000 units, up from 2018 in the same proportion as production of 2% or equal to 210,000 units.

The increase of production will mainly come from the SUV “C-HR” full production in China. However, switching the car models in the U.S. will result in a significant decrease in U.S. production.

In addition, in January 2019, TMC plans to adjust its business executive hierarchy to accelerate the "management progress" and human resource development in order to be in line with the ever changing environment of the automotive industry. Mr. Akio Toyoda, the President of Toyota Motor Corporation, commented as follows.

"The arrival of new technology and innovations, especially the concept of CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) has made the automotive concept come to the turning point. I believe the future vehicles with the ability to connect to various services will become a part of society and raise the quality of people's lives. Our priority is, therefore, to change the concept into reality."

In this regard, TMC has set the production and sales goals for each brand as detailed below.
