Shindengen declared its expansion of Power Semiconductor production for automobile in Thailand and its additional investment of more than 100 million yen in Lumphun Shindengen. The machine for the assembly would be installed in one of the three unused buildings and the production of the discrete semiconductor would be in summer and the production of the module would be at the end of this year.

The company expected that the production increase can be expanded up to 40% within the fiscal year 2021 in order to serve the rising orders of ECU (Electronic Control Unit) from the automobile and motorcycle sectors, as well as the increasing demand from automobile manufacturers for the utilization in EV and PHV in the future.

The increasing volume of ECU used in electrical vehicles (EV) and the demand of several modules to reduce the size of parts had led to the dramatic rise of the order volume. In addition, with the realization of the EV’s demand in the future, Shindengen had decided to strengthen its production capacity in Thailand to be one of its oversea hubs to provide the stability to the supply in the future.
